Why We Love Classic Black and White Boudoir Photos

When it comes to my boudoir sessions, I love to mix it up. From dark and moody to light and airy, and from Parisian glamour to boho naturals, I love to create different styles and vibes for my clients. But one look that never goes out of style is classic black and white boudoir photos.

So many of the ladies who inquire about booking a boudoir photo shoot with me ask about these black and white shots. They love them! The sharp contrast and the timeless feel pull you in. There’s something about black and white photos that instantly ups the wow factor!

How to create the boudoir look

Creating these classic black and white boudoir photos has definitely become part of my signature style. My favourite way to achieve this look – and one of my clients’ favourites during their photo reveal – is playing with dark silhouettes against a sheer white curtain. The contrast of light and dark with the airiness of the curtain is magical!

I love adding in texture and inviting my clients to play with different materials and backdrops. Whether it’s a sheer curtain, a white sheet or a faux-fur carpet, adding that element of touch and depth of texture always takes our boudoir session to the next level.

When we create black and white images, we’re stripped down to a more natural version of ourselves. Whether you’re wrapped up in white sheets on the bed or taking your boudoir shoot outdoors, the classic black and white boudoir look is for everyone!

What to wear in classic black and white boudoir photos

Not sure what to wear to your boudoir session? I’ve got you covered. To create the best version of the black and white look, you’ll want to wear an all-black or all-white outfit. That way, we’ll be able to highlight the beautiful contrast of dark and light.

Fishnet tights or thigh high stockings paired with an oversized white button down are great for this look. They’re so sexy and classy! You could also rock a black blazer (with nothing else underneath!) for a sultry look that isn’t too revealing.
