The idea of a boudoir session can be a bit intimidating. When chatting with women about their sessions, I receive a variety of questions. To provide some guidance on preparing for a boudoir session with me, I’ve put together a list of my 12 most commonly asked questions!
Q1: Do you share my images?
Our main focus is ensuring our clients feel at ease, especially when it comes to boudoir shoots. It can be a transformative experience, but it’s also a bit nerve-wracking. Sometimes, you’re on a journey to embrace and love your body, and you might not be ready to show those images to the world just yet. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with and your personal preferences. If there are any photos you’d be okay with sharing, we’ll always ask for your permission first and only share what you’re comfortable with.
Q2: Do I have to wear lingerie? I am not a lingerie person
You totally don’t have to wear lingerie for a boudoir shoot if it’s not your vibe. It’s all about embracing your true self and feeling beautiful, strong and badass no matter what you wear. Whether you feel lacey lingerie is the style for you or you just want to feel sexy in your favorite sweater, ripped jeans or leather jacket – we are here for it!! The whole point is to capture the real you, make you feel comfortable, and have a blast doing it. Q3: Do you offer payment plans?
We do offer pre-payment instalment plans that you have the option to take advantage of! It makes it a bit easier to pay in smaller chunks rather than a larger sum. There will be a booking retainer of $500 to book your photo shoot and then we will have another call 1-2 weeks later to go over the collections and discuss a plan for payment of your products. Your chosen collection typically needs to be prepaid one month before your shoot.
Q4: Is Hair and Makeup Prep included?
Yes, Hair and makeup is included in all of our portrait and boudoir photo shoots because we don’t want you to worry about a single thing for this amazing experience! Our Hair and Makeup professional will pamper and glam you up! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can try to use it for inspiration.
Q5: I have acne, stretch marks and cellulite – are you retouching those?
Our retouching process includes addressing acne, acne scarring, stretch marks, and cellulite to enhance the overall appearance. Upon request, minor adjustments to your silhouette can be made. What we won’t do is make major changes to your body shape or face. We want your photos to capture the real you, just on your absolute best day. If there’s something you’re not too thrilled about, we can work with poses and lighting to highlight your favorite features instead. It’s all about making you feel awesome in your own skin!
Q6: Do I need to bring my own lingerie or do you provide those?
Please bring your own outfits and accessories for the shoot. We do have a wardrobe with add-ons available such as robes in different colors, fabrics, cozy sweater and some body suits that you are welcome to use but we want to make sure you have at least 3-4 outfits of your own that you are very happy with and that fit well. Q7: Am I too old for this? I am worried a boudoir shoot is not for me
A boudoir photo shoot is a fantastic and empowering experience for women of all ages, shapes and sizes! As we journey through life, our experiences and wisdom shape our sense of self and confidence, making the images captured during a boudoir session even more meaningful. It’s an opportunity for older women to celebrate their beauty, embrace their sensuality, and capture a moment in time that reflects their unique journey.
Q8: How long does a boudoir photo shoot typically last?
The duration can vary, but most boudoir sessions last 3-4 hours including the hair and makeup prep. This allows time for outfit changes and ensures a relaxed atmosphere.
Q9: What type of products do you offer?
All of our packages include printed products ranging from matted prints to large luxury albums and their matching digital images. We also offer wall art and will do free mockup design for you! For more information please read these blog posts:

Q10: I’m ready to book a shoot! What’s next?
Complete the contact form, and we’ll be in touch to schedule a call with you! On the phone we’ll go over all the details and you can book in your session date and pay the session fee. Then we’ll send you a booking contract. To secure your shoot day and time, it’s crucial to sign the contract and pay the session fee. The remaining balance for your chosen collection will be discussed during the wardrobe and design consultation 1-2 weeks after your booking and is due one month before your shoot day. You can conveniently settle it using a credit card through my online booking system. I’m also happy to accept e-transfers! If you need a bit of flexibility in affording your preferred package, don’t worry—payment plans are available. Let’s make sure you get the package that suits you best!
Q11: I am so nervous! How can I calm my nerves?
Feeling nervous is totally normal in this experience! It might actually be a bit odd if you weren’t a bit jittery. Those initial nerves at the start of your shoot contribute to that incredible “WOW” moment when you first see your photos—it’s all part of making that moment even more special!
Q12: Where is your studio located?
We are located South Langley (Aldergrove). Our studio is located on a beautiful farm property in a rural area, which makes it super easy to park right in front of the studio and having zero commotion and distractions for your boudoir photo shoot!
